We seek to make a positive impact on the world through our work in the power generation market, which is growing and evolving. Our national Power Generation team is positioned for growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to help clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

Responsibilities
  • Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale systems, including supporting traditional Owner’s Engineer roles.
  • Design and supervise power generation and distribution, protection and motor control, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs (e.g., raceways, lighting, grounding).
  • Mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships, and lead marketing activities such as proposal writing, fee development, and work breakdown structure creation in response to RFPs.
  • Perform design and engineer-of-record duties for power plant systems and coordinate with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews.
  • Direct activities of other engineering professionals and provide mentorship as needed.
  • Travel for client meetings and site visits as required (less than 10%).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
  • Experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation; prior experience with power consulting or EPC firms is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills; strong leadership abilities to work independently or lead multi-discipline teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, grounding, and related systems including lighting and instrumentation and life-safety considerations.
  • Ability to support project reviews with management and mentor staff as needed.
  • Travel expectations of less than 10% for client meetings and site visits.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng license.
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS-CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, Revit).
