Overview
:
Lead the design and delivery of grading, drainage, utilities, permitting, and construction administration projects from concept through construction, managing projects and building client relationships in a collaborative, employee‑owned environment.
Project Delivery & Design Leadership
- Lead the design and delivery of grading, drainage, utilities, permitting, and construction administration.
- Oversee preparation of construction‑ready engineering plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Support the Engineer of Record for assigned projects or project components.
- Ensure technical quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Provide construction administration oversight and support during project implementation.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage projects from proposal through construction, including scope, schedule, and budget performance.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, permitting agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and resource planning.
- Navigate regulatory requirements and secure necessary approvals and permits.
- Monitor project performance and ensure alignment with client expectations and company standards.
- Progress toward Engineer of Record responsibilities and project management with experience and licensure.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including supporting proposals, interviews, and client development efforts.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations leadership to expand market presence and client base.
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the land development practice.
- Mentor and develop engineers and design staff to support project delivery and professional growth.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure consistency and quality across project teams.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that supports knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or equivalent ABET‑accredited engineering program.
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience with site civil / land development engineering including technical design and project leadership.
- Minimum of one year of project engineering experience leading small teams and project phases.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or able to obtain soon after hire.
- Experience managing projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and overall delivery performance.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including clients, architects, and consultants.
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering design software for roadway, utilities, and grading design.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and support new business opportunities.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers and design staff.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record for project‑related travel.
- $105,000 to $130,000 base pay (DOE)
- Annual bonuses based on performance.
