Duties
Help
As a Contract Specialist, you will:
* Perform in-depth analyses of all cost elements in contractor proposals and developing competitive range determinations that significantly influence source selection.
* Mentor lower-graded personnel as subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development, and actively contributes to team initiatives as directed by leadership.
* Draft and secure legally defensible determinations and findings, preparing robust solicitation documents, and executing all phases of contracting from initial requirement identification through final contract close-out.
* Adjudicates complex claims, negotiates and settles disputes, initiates and manages terminations for convenience or cause. Monitors Government property reporting and utilization, provides authoritative direction to Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), approves substantial payments, and ensures meticulous contract closeout.
* Exercise full contracting officer (CO) authority as formally delegated by the Head of the Contracting Activity, operating with a high degree of independence and accountability.
