Job Description: Performs imaging exams for which the employee meets the Core Exam Specifications and as allowed by their Limited Scope Radiographer license. Employee must demonstrate competency in these areas through successful completion of skills test/competency review.

As a Limited Scope Radiographer Cath Lab at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care. Facility
:
Intermountain Health Saint Vincent Hospital is equipped with 2 Cath Labs, 1 Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, 1 Vascular Suite, and a Hybrid Operating Room, providing a comprehensive environment for advanced cardiovascular interventions. We perform approximately 350 procedures per month, spanning a diverse range of specialties.

  • Cardiac Procedures:
    Diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, including Impella support.
  • Electrophysiology:
    Complex arrhythmia ablations (SVT, atrial fibrillation, Aflutter), Farapulse technology, and Watchman device implantation.
  • Structural Heart Interventions: TAVR, Triclip, Mitra Clip, ASD, and PFO closures.
  • Vascular Procedures:
    Endovascular, peripheral interventions, EVAR, TAVAR, TEVAR.

Our laboratories are outfitted with Philips imaging systems and GE Mac-Lab hemodynamic monitoring systems, complemented by Acist contrast injection devices. Our team uses a range of technology including Pnumbra, Shockwave, Rotablator, Volcano systems, IVUS, Boston Scientific devices, Impella, balloon pumps, and 3D ICE technology.

We foster a collaborative and respectful environment that brings together Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Cardiac Surgeons to ensure interdisciplinary excellence. Procedures are carried out by three-person teams (registered nurses and invasive technologists) with documentation managed via Epic and Mac-Lab systems. Sedation is provided through RN-led conscious sedation and anesthesia when appropriate.

Essential Functions
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Is sensitive to the patients' needs throughout the procedure.
  • Sufficiently explains to the patient and family the procedure to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety.
  • Addresses patient concerns.
  • Performs radiologic exams that produce quality images and ensures patient and staff safety.
  • Follows proper protocols, correct patient positioning, appropriate use of equipment, and adherence to radiation protection guidelines.
  • Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately.
  • Completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage, accurately.
  • Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff. Ensures supplies and equipment are stored in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Pursues individual education and career development opportunities, emphasizing new procedures and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications – Limited Scope
  • Licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist/Limited Scope Operator in state of practice or ARRT Board Registry Eligible per state requirements.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Competency in at least one of the following areas:
    Chest, Extremities, Spine, Skull, Podiatry, Bone Densitometry (DEXA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic environment.
