Hours per Pay Period: 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)

The RN Stroke Informaticist advances clinical practice and patient outcomes through integration and utilization of Clinical Information Systems (CIS). Responsibilities include planning, design, build, testing, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing evaluation of CIS.
Essential Job Functions- Supports and models Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct and service expectations; maintains competency in standards related to environment, safety, and job performance.
- Maintains knowledge of standards for stroke accreditation (DNV, AHA/ASA Get With The Guidelines).
- Keeps up-to-date on healthcare trends, informatics, standards, regulations, policies and EHR implications.
- Responds to user requests and concerns related to the CIS.
- Participates in committees or task forces to communicate and advance EHR development and implementation.
- Collaborates on evaluating development efforts for pilot and full implementations of EHR features and clinical technologies; processes user feedback.
- Coordinates investigations of incidents/complaints and data collection for corrective actions.
- Participates in quality projects, prepares variance reports, and presents issues to leadership and committees as needed.
- Oversees Stroke Registry for performance improvement.
- Acts as EMS liaison for education, collaboration, and case reviews based on data.
- Participates in case review, standard-setting, and community stroke education and prevention programs.
- Supports research activities, data collection, and analysis to inform practice.
- Identifies needs and goals for professional growth; maintains required organizational and departmental competencies.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary stroke team efforts and supports problem resolution through program development and evaluation.
- Assists in developing and evaluating stroke guidelines, pathways, and protocols.
- Maintains safety competency per organizational and departmental standards.
Education
- 4-year nursing degree
Experience
- Three years of experience in related tasks
Certifications & Licensure- NIH Stroke Scale certification, required
- BLS and ACLS, required
- Current RN license in Montana, required
