Network & Telecommunications Administrator
This position operates daily with telecommunications, Voice over IP (VoIP), data communications, networking, service implementation, and IP security. The administrator monitors, manages, and escalates network and telecommunications equipment and applications to align with the company’s objectives, improve performance, and ensure authorized user access.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve network‑ and telecommunications‑related problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Facilitate effective communication among all involved personnel and departments.
- Assist users with network queries, troubleshooting, and technical issues.
- Monitor and report system performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain network diagrams, inventory documentation, and process procedures for future reference.
- Respond to network‑related queries and troubleshoot connectivity problems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to address issues.
- Configure hardware and software, perform system administration, user provisioning, and basic health maintenance of solutions.
- Ensure network equipment security and compliance with relevant security policies and standards.
- Respond to and resolve customer service requests according to First Interstate Bank policies in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner.
- Perform other related duties such as equipment repair, special projects, and assistance to IT staff.
- Collaborate with third‑party support and service vendors.
- Detail‑oriented and customer‑service‑focused.
- Current technical experience with VoIP infrastructure, telephony capacity metrics, SIP and CTI messaging, and vendor support.
- Extensive IT knowledge in local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware and software.
- Ability to problem‑solve and think critically.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience preferred. - 1–3 years of IT related experience required.
- Experience with low‑voltage cabling, MDF, and IDF preferred.
• Dexterity of hands/fingers to operate computer keyboard and mouse.
• Frequently lifting occasionally (up to 50lbs).
• Sitting, frequently standing, occasionally.
• Noise level – moderate.
• Typical work hours – Monday–Friday, 8‑5.
