Systems Administrator II

• Provide end-user and system support for infrastructure platforms during core business hours, with rotational on-call participation
• Support operating systems, virtual machines, storage appliances, and backup environments
• Troubleshoot system, hardware, and backup issues
• Use monitoring and analytics tools to maintain system performance and identify issues
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to meet compliance and security requirements
• Follow change management procedures for hardware and software updates
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting and coordinate vendor repairs
• Evaluate new server hardware and software needs and support deployment activities
• Apply system hardening guidelines and maintain patch levels
• Assist Cyber Security Specialists during incident response
• Support routine maintenance and maintain inventory records
• Support backup and restore operations, backup health checks, and database-related restores
• Manage assigned tasks and tickets, ensuring timely completion of incidents, changes, and service requests
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational best practices
• Follow standard procedures for recurring operational activities

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Public Trust (Tier
  4) clearance required
• 2–4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting both Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows environments
• Experience working in multi-platform environments and following established SOPs and technical guidance
• Understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity fundamentals, and system performance concepts
• Experience with system lifecycle management, patching, and routine updates
• Familiarity with Bash, Python, Power Shell, or Ansible
• Experience supporting cloud services or virtualized environments, including VMware, Azure, or AWS
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Experience creating or updating technical documentation
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as Service Now
• Working knowledge of the listed operating systems, virtualization, servers, cloud platforms, scripting, networking, package deployment, remote management, monitoring, backup, identity management, PIV/key management, collaboration, and ticketing tools and technologies
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel to move equipment and set up workstations
• Must present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL
  -compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved GSA document

Demonstrates expertise in Systems Administration across Linux and Windows environments, with a strong focus on system performance, cybersecurity compliance, and operational best practices. Proficient in managing infrastructure platforms, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining documentation for system configurations.
