- 3:30 p.m. - Pay: $20.48/hour for 90 workday probationary period, then $22.76/hour

Operate trucks, tractors and various yard equipment; may substitute for absent grounds foreman; assist craftsmen by performing air temperature control, carpentry, electrical, glazing, painting, and plumbing work of a maintenance nature not requiring journeyman level skills; supervise student help; perform related work as required.
- Perform semi-skilled manual labor in maintaining grounds and related areas, and assist in the repair, maintenance, and construction of buildings and related facilities.
- Perform landscaping and grounds care tasks including seeding, laying sod, planting, earthwork and fine grading; water, weed, and mow lawns; prune trees and shrubs; rake leaves, haul brush and rubbish; remove snow and ice; maintain parking lots and playgrounds; move furniture, musical instruments and equipment; repair fencing; fertilize lawns; spray for insects and weeds; repair irrigation systems.

- Supervise student help.
- Working knowledge of the care and operation of manual and motorized groundskeeping equipment including trucks and tractors.
- Working knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment required to perform groundskeeping duties for the proper care of lawns, flowers, trees, shrubs, playgrounds and parking lots.
- Helper's level of knowledge in the methods and practices of general maintenance and construction work related to facilities and building systems, and the proper use and care of associated tools and equipment.
- Able to perform manual labor; perform a variety of groundskeeping tasks and tasks related to the maintenance of facilities.
- Operate equipment and use tools effectively.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Work from blueprints, plans and sketches.
- Maintain effective working relationships with fellow workers, supervisors, all people served by the department, and the public.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three years of experience as a groundskeeper, or any combination of education and experience, and one year of general facilities maintenance, construction and repair work, or any combination of education and experience.
