The Area Industrial Market Sector Leader will have a focus on Industrial Sector projects and client management, for projects and pursuits with key clients in Montana. The Industrial Market Sector includes Mining, Oil and Gas, Advanced Manufacturing and Agribusiness. This individual will be expected to identify and develop project opportunities, serve as a pursuit champion, and act as a resource for HDR Industrial Sector pursuits, as well as Resources Business Group (RBG) opportunities.
Duties will also include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, including field programs. In addition, this individual will supplement technical and project management support on other area Resources projects dependent on candidates experience and capabilities, including Power and Waste markets.
- Serving as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the area, and be active and visible in the industry.
- Promote broader HDR services to clients with the Resources Business Group (RBG) Manager and Industrial Practice Leads (Mining, Agribusiness, Advanced Manufacturing and Oil, Gas and Chemicals).
- Work with RBG Manager on development and delivery of area market sector initiatives.
- Lead and/or support selected pursuits through client relationship development and/or through development of strategy and participation in pursuit activities.
- Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations, including giving related presentations and participating in panel discussions.
- Identify key investments (skills, acquisitions and technology) that will maintain or drive HDR into Industrial Sector industry leadership position.
- Develop relationships with Industrial Sector counterparts in other consulting organizations.
- Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations both on-site and corporately.
- Assume responsibility for coordination support between departments.
- Work with the Resources Business Class Directors and Industrial Sector Practices to drive technical excellence and coordinate technical staff to support the program and marketing efforts.
- Lead the Area in identifying needs and opportunities for new and improved technical services and products so as to maximize the depth, effectiveness and efficiency of the practice.
- Work with the Industrial Sector Practice Leads, BD Leads, RBG Manager and Area Manager to coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires.
- Assist local leadership as necessary with local hire on-boarding.
- Identify resource gaps and support talent management and recruiting.
- Facilitate cooperation and eliminate hurdles and barriers to success.
- Work with Area Business Group Leadership and Industrial Sector Practice Lead to implement process improvements and leverage work sharing to meet or exceed planned goals.
- Be aware of staff workload and facilitate work sharing within the Industrial Sector; promote effective use of company resources and assist in applying key staff/expertise to projects.
- Assist with contract review on key projects to help ensure risk management, proper staffing, quality reviews and resolution of claims.
- Promote Quality Assurance/Quality Control; work with business class and regional leadership to assist the local programs with key technical expertise to support marketing and project activities.
