Warehouse Lead - Manufacturing Environment

The Warehouse Lead provides hands-on leadership for inventory and material handling activities. This role plans work, develops stocking and inventory objectives, monitors inventory data, resolves operational issues, and drives continuous improvement related to cost, quality, delivery, lead time, and inventory reduction. The ideal candidate is a safety-focused leader who is organized, analytical, and comfortable working closely with production and cross-functional teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Direct and coordinate the daily activities of employees involved in inventory and material processing, including Expeditors, Shipping/Receiving Coordinators, and Forklift Operators.
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, material pulls, and workflow priorities to support production goals and changing operational needs.
• Coordinate with supervisors and departments across the organization to align inventory activities with production schedules and material requirements.
• Monitor inventory availability and proactively identify part shortages, material constraints, and other issues that may impact production.
• Maintain accurate inventory data and records, including part shortages, shipping and receiving transactions, inventory transfers, bin locations, and picklist accuracy.
• Inspect materials, products, and equipment to identify defects, discrepancies, damage, or malfunctions and coordinate corrective action as needed.
• Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, inventory reports, charts, and related records to determine requirements and evaluate current inventory and production needs.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, company policies, and procedures and clearly communicate requirements to employees.
• Train employees on equipment operation, inventory processes, work procedures, and safety expectations.
• Develop stocking levels and parts objectives with an emphasis on cost reduction, quality improvement, on-time delivery, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction, technology development, and customer focus.
• Partner with management and employees to address workflow concerns, employee issues, complaints, or grievances in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain employee attendance and hours-worked records as required.
• Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, and repair services necessary to support department operations.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee coaching skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple inventory and production support activities.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, work orders, and production documentation.
• Working knowledge of inventory control, material handling, shipping/receiving, and warehouse processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
• Ability to analyze inventory and production information, identify problems, and implement practical solutions.
• Ability to work effectively across departments and communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
