Clinical Coordinator – Emergency Department (full-time)

Shift: Day
Employment Status: Full-Time (0.75 or greater)
Hours per Pay Period: 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $40.91 - 51.14
The Clinical Coordinator assists the Manager and/or Director in providing leadership and management within the assigned department(s). The role is responsible for the coordination of 24 hour/7 day a week operational and clinical activity, including personnel selection, orientation/training, scheduling, development/mentoring, performance appraisals, coaching, disciplinary actions, patient care delivery, physician relationships, regulatory compliance and fiscal control. Assists in policy/procedure development and uses evidence-based practice to promote standard advancement.
In the absence of the Manager/Director, may assume 24-hour management responsibility for the assigned department(s).
Essential Job Functions
- Supports and models behaviors aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and service expectations; maintains competency with standards related to safety and performance.
- Assists in development and maintenance of policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Participates in the development of education plans; directs orientation and training of new staff; ensures ongoing education with evidence-based practice.
- Fosters an environment for staff growth and development; participates in Shared Governance and professional growth opportunities.
- Participates in planning for departmental functions, budgetary processes, and fiscal control; maximizes resources and responds to department needs.
- Maintains communication with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient care and department functions; maintains clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse.
- Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve care quality; incorporates Magnet Model in transforming the work environment and nursing care.
- Maintains competency in safety standards; performs other duties as needed.
