Requirements
  • Active RN license in state of practice.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of acute care nursing experience (supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred).
  • BLS and ACLS required; additional certifications per facility may apply.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to make rapid decisions, manage crises, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Experience with patient flow management and hospital operations preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and clinical oversight to nursing staff across all units during the shift.
  • Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, to maintain appropriate staffing and bed management.
  • Serve as the acting administrator-on-duty, addressing operational issues, staff concerns, and patient or family needs.
  • Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and critical events, offering support and direction.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
  • Assess staffing needs and reassign personnel as needed to maintain safe patient ratios.
  • Support clinical teams with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and escalation management.
  • Document incidents, staffing decisions, and operational concerns and communicate with leadership.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and efficient environment for staff and patients.
