Clinical Resource Registered Nurse

Part‑time Registered Nurse – Clinical Resource Registered Nurse (Med‑Surg/Community)

Start Date: ASAP – 1 position, part time. Lab/clinical days:
Mondays and Tuesdays.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct student nurses in theoretical and clinical aspects of nursing practice.
• Facilitate discussions on nursing methods, professional aspects, theories of physiology, psycho dynamics, assessment of functional health patterns, nursing interventions, medical and surgical treatments, and principles of asepsis and antisepsis.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to assign students to patients and observe performance in clinical settings.
• Administer and grade clinical paperwork, maintain records of student progress.
• Provide observational and participative learning experiences to apply nursing theory and the nursing process.
• Counsel students on education matters, facilitate problem‑solving, offer advice and assistance.
• Make recommendations to the Director of Nursing and faculty for curriculum improvement.
• Participate in professional development: workshops, conferences, educational meetings.
• Assist in preparing reports required by national and state accrediting agencies.
• Participate in quality‑improvement activities at the school and clinical facility.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered registration as a RN in the state of Montana.
• Two calendar years of full‑time equivalent clinical nursing practice as an RN before employment.
• Ability to coordinate educational experience with nursing staff personnel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of health‑care agency organization and functions of departments, policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to evaluate the nursing education program and recommend improvements to overall quality of nursing education.
