Location:
Billings, Montana – Full‑time. Shift: Day. Hours per Pay Period: 80 hours every two weeks.
The CRNA administers general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric, and trauma procedures in a Level I Trauma Center. The role includes pre‑operative assessment, anesthesia planning, intra‑operative monitoring, and postoperative care under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist.
Essential Job Functions- Work under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist.
- Provide quality patient care considering age, developmental, and cultural factors.
- Manage patient airway or pulmonary status using intubation, ventilation, pharmacologic support, and respiratory therapy.
- Select, prepare, or use equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for anesthesia administration.
- Order and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products.
- Perform pre‑anesthetic screenings and document results; monitor patient responses during procedures.
- Respond to emergencies with airway management, emergency fluids or drugs, and basic or advanced cardiac life support.
- Develop anesthesia care plans and obtain informed consent from patients.
- Assess medical histories to predict anesthesia responses.
- Perform and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., X‑rays, EKGs) as needed.
- Perform regional anesthetic techniques (local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks).
- Evaluate post‑surgical or post‑anesthesia responses, taking corrective actions or requesting consultation.
- Administer post‑anesthesia medications or fluids and discharge patients from post‑anesthesia care.
- Stay current with nursing literature, colleague discussion, and professional organizations.
- Perform other related duties as requested or required.
- Support and model Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, and values; meet mandatory organizational requirements.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduate of an accredited or approved CRNA Master’s program.
- CRNA certification and RN license at hire.
Other qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; licensed or certified status must be in good standing.
