American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Nurse Manager position in Billings, MT, requiring a BSN, leadership experience, and ICU clinical background.
Requirements- Active MT RN license or compact RN license (compact license must be transferred to MT within 60 days of start)
- Current BLS certification from AHA, must not expire prior to start date
- BSN from an accredited institution required (degree will be verified)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required, including at least 1 year of ICU experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience required
- Epic EMR experience
- DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- 13-week contract at a regional hospital in Billings, MT
- Nurse Manager role overseeing a nursing department, reporting to a Nurse Director
- Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with some flexibility
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- Availability required on some evenings and weekends as urgent unit needs arise
- Uses Epic for charting
- Position is contract-to-hire with the intent to convert to a permanent Nurse Manager role
- Responsibilities are distributed as follows: 50% tactical (staffing, equipment availability), 40% operational (budget management, supply acquisition, employee performance), and 10% strategic (goal development aligned to organizational strategic plan)
- Oversees clinical nursing environment, day-to-day operations, standards of care, and departmental structure
- Manages annual capital, operating, and FTE budgets for the unit
- Responsible for staff hiring, orientation, retention, competency verification, and performance evaluations
- Partners with physicians at the unit level to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals
- Monitors and improves patient satisfaction using service metrics and national benchmarks
- Coordinates compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory bodies including Joint Commission, OSHA, and CMS
- Must complete required leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting the position
- Former permanent Intermountain Health employees must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
