American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and Trauma Level II background.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit, including an Observation Unit managing chest pain rule-out patients
• Supports the ED by holding patients when the hospital census is full, often involving cardiac patients
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Cerner charting system (preferred experience)
• No floating required unless otherwise agreed upon during interview or offer

• Active RN license (Montana or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required;
  Trauma Level I experience preferred
• At least one prior travel contract required; first-time travelers will not be considered for this float unit
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Strong cardiac and telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skills in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred (titration not required)
• References required for consideration

• Provide care for cardiac and telemetry patients, including chest pain rule-out and observation patient management
• Support the emergency department during periods of high patient volume
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates will not be accepted
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before applying
• Candidates with license or background check hits may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Additional preferred experience includes gyn/onc surgery, neuro stepdown care, and wound care/wound vac management
