** Position Summary
** The Ketamine Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) who serves as an integral part of the IV Ketamine therapy program for depression treatment at Turnwell Mental Health Network. This role is responsible for administering IV Ketamine treatments, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process. The Ketamine Nurse works closely with the medical team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing IV Ketamine therapy.##

Qualifications
** Core Responsibilities
**** Treatment Administration & Patient Monitoring
*** Administer IV Ketamine treatments to patients as prescribed by the medical team.
* Perform thorough assessments of patients prior to each treatment to ensure their suitability for Ketamine therapy.
* Monitor patients closely during and after IV Ketamine administration, assessing vital signs and mental state.
* Collaborate with the medical team to adjust treatment protocols based on individual patient responses.
* Ensure the proper preparation, administration, and disposal of Ketamine and related equipment in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
** Patient Support & Education
*** Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing treatment, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
* Educate patients and their families about the Ketamine treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
** Documentation, Compliance & Professional Development
*** Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatment details, progress, and any adverse reactions.
* Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to nursing practice and medication administration.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in Ketamine therapy and psychiatric nursing practices.
** Qualifications

* ** Valid and current RN licensure in the state of clinical practice.
* Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with experience in psychiatric or mental health settings.
* Certification or training in IV therapy and medication administration.
* Strong understanding of depression and related mental health conditions.
* Ability to assess patients' physical and emotional well-being accurately.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and address patient concerns.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, as required.

Physical Requirements
** This is primarily a clinic-based, in-person position. The role involves extended periods of standing and close patient monitoring during infusion sessions, as well as computer use for documentation. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The Ketamine Nurse will regularly interact with patients experiencing depression and related mental health challenges; a calm, supportive, non-judgmental approach is essential.
