American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position requiring 5 years of NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Level III NICU setting within a hospital
- Neonatal patient population including extremely premature infants (34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts )
- Call requirement of up to 4 call shifts within an 8 week period
- Floating primarily within Pediatrics and NICU service line, but may include floating to other units as a 1:1 safety sitter
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Active RN license (Montana state or compact)
- BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 5 years of NICU RN experience required
- NICU Level III experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with medication administration including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, and IV vasopressors
- Proficient in APGAR scoring, developmental care, thermoregulation, and patient/family teaching
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries
- Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, HFNC, suctioning, and respiratory distress syndrome care
- Experience with gastrointestinal care including feedings and NEC
- References required for consideration
- Must reside 75+ miles from the facility
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients across a range of gestational ages and acuity levels
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and complex neonatal conditions including seizure disorders and neonatal abstinence syndrome
- Scrubs provided
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates will not be considered
- Previous permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before returning as a traveler
