American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring MICU/SICU background and a Trauma Level I care environment.

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at a hospital
• Cares for complex, high-acuity medical, trauma, neuro, and surgical ICU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with block scheduling for day/night shifts considered
• Primarily floats within the Critical Care Division, with occasional floating to other units based on census needs
• Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs
• Cerner charting system preferred

• Active RN license (MT state or compact) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 1+ year of experience in specialty required
• Must have MICU and/or SICU experience; float pool-only experience does not meet requirements
• Trauma Level I experience required;
  Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with skills such as IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids required
• Experience managing ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy, and post-neurosurgery care required
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and cardiac dysrhythmias required
• References required for consideration

• Provide independent, competent care to high-acuity ICU patients including trauma, neuro, and surgical cases
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• Prior permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before returning
• Background check hits will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates will not float to affiliate hospitals unless otherwise agreed upon during interview or offer
