Duties/Responsibilities- Oversee final installation inspections on new equipment.
- Ensure all manufacturing paperwork is properly filled out and correct if needed.
- Complete all quality control paperwork and sign off.
- Photograph units for documentation.
- Test drive/brake check all equipment.
- Move equipment in and out of the shop and organize yard of finished product and new arrivals.
- Facilitate new and repair equipment pickup and delivery.
- Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements.
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods.
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
- Training the production team in quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Proposing improvements to the production process.
- Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements.
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
- Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs.
- Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data.
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks.
- Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provide training to employees in the QA department.
- Electrical systems experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications.
- Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers.
- In-depth understanding of company standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices.
- Understanding of target market and consumer needs.
- Blueprint reading capabilities.
- Documentation and reporting skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of industry experience, 1-2 years of quality control experience preferred
- Standing and Walking:
Inspectors often need to stand or walk for extended periods while inspecting products or overseeing production processes. - Lifting:
The ability to lift 40-50 pounds is commonly required. - Dexterity:
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. - Reaching and Bending:
Inspectors may need to squat, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, kneel, twist, and bend at the neck and waist2 - Visual Acuity:
Normal visual acuity and the ability to distinguish colors are necessary for identifying defects and ensuring product quality
- Pay Transparency:
Anticipated starting wage: $28 per hour DOE + Bonus Opportunity. - Pay:
This is a non-exempt, hourly position, and employees are paid weekly. - Typical Shift: 5:00a.m to 3:30p.m.
