About This Opportunity
Are you a driven, ambitious professional ready to fast‑track into a management role? The Ryder Rental Management Trainee program is an 18–24 month accelerated career development experience designed to build the next generation of Ryder leaders.
This program is fast‑paced and touches every aspect of the business unit. You'll receive hands‑on training across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing — gaining the full toolkit you need to step into a leadership role with confidence.
What You'll ExperienceOver 18–24 months, you’ll build expertise across every core area of the business:
- Finance – Understand the P&L drivers behind a high‑performing rental operation
- Operations – Manage rental assets, vehicle PM standards, and day‑to‑day location performance
- Sales & Marketing – Drive revenue through inbound sales, outbound solicitation, and lead generation for rental, lease, and used vehicle sales
- Human Resources – Learn how to build, develop, and lead a team
- Customer Relationship Management – Resolve customer concerns and grow a loyal customer base
- Compliance & Regulatory – Ensure alignment with company, local, state, and federal requirements
- Handle the sales process for inbound calls as well as outbound solicitation
- Maintain current and accurate data within the company’s marketing database
- Responsible for generating rental, lease, and used vehicle sales leads
- Manage all rental asset processes to include vehicle PM and cleanliness standards
- Meet overall Ryder market share by successfully executing sales and marketing initiatives
- Maintain compliance with company, local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies
- Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, and disputes to maintain ongoing relationships and grow the current customer base
- On a voluntary basis and as per schedule, the Rental Management Trainee will be required to perform the role of On‑Call Representative based on work schedules determined by Supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Detail oriented with strong follow‑up practices
- Possess a high degree of common sense and the aptitude to learn quickly
- Ability to relocate within the region/US at the conclusion of the training program
- Must be computer literate – intermediate required
- Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or similar related degree
- One (1) year or more customer service with issues resolution experience preferred

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
