Outside Sales Representative - Security Systems

As an Outside Sales Representative, you will sell Graybar’s products and services in a specialized market, developing new prospects and maintaining relationships with established customers while visiting them at their sites or other off‑site locations.

• Meet or exceed assigned gross margin budget.
• Promote and sell products in the assigned territory in compliance with pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and transaction reports; assist in the collection of past‑due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.

• Minimum 3 years industry‑specific experience required; 4+ years preferred.
• Four‑year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn the business and work independently to achieve goals.
• Persuasive sales ability.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

The expected annual base salary is $70,000, depending on experience, plus commission.

Monday through Friday – 7:00am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 5:00pm.
