Torque King 4x4 is a stocking 4x4 drivetrain parts company. While many orders are placed online, our customers still rely on knowledgeable humans to help identify parts, confirm fitment, and solve problems—especially when they’re working on older rigs, mixed components, or unusual setups.
If you like talking trucks, solving mechanical puzzles, and helping people get their vehicle back on the road (or trail), you’ll fit in well here.
What You’ll Do- Answer phone calls and emails from customers needing help identifying the correct parts.
- Assist walk‑in customers at the counter.
- Ask the right questions to confirm what the customer actually has (and what they actually need).
- Use internal tools, photos, and product knowledge to match parts to the correct application.
- Explain part identification steps clearly and confidently.
- Help customers work through common drivetrain details such as Dana 44 vs Dana 44HD.
- Spicer vs Warn locking hubs.
- 1455 vs 1485 series U‑joints.
- Inner vs outer seals vs pinion seals.
- Local terminology (e.g., “pumpkin,” “rear pumpkin,” etc.).
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail—being “close” can still mean “wrong part.”
- Support order questions, shipping issues, and product availability.
- Coordinate with the warehouse when needed to confirm details, check stock, or verify parts.
- Keep communication clear and professional, even when the customer is frustrated.
- Strong mechanical aptitude (automotive/4x4/drivetrain knowledge is a big plus).
- Comfortable speaking with customers by phone and email throughout the day.
- Able to type, use computers confidently, and learn internal software.
- Clear communicator who can explain technical info to both experienced and non‑experienced customers.
- Detail‑oriented: care about getting the right part, not just “a” part.
- Hands‑on experience with 4x4s, axles, driveline, hubs, bearings, seals, etc.
- Prior parts counter, service writer, or technical sales experience.
- Experience with fitment research and part number cross‑referencing.
- Monthly commission paid monthly (percentage based on the month’s total sales).
- Discounted local healthcare plan options after 6 months.
- PTO accrues based on hours worked beginning after 1 year of full‑time employment.
- Breaks: two paid 10‑minute breaks per day + one unpaid 30‑minute lunch.
This job is not high‑pressure “sales at all costs.” It is technical sales and customer service: the goal is to help the customer identify what they have, choose the right part, and get it done correctly—so they don’t have to buy the same part twice.
