General Laborer – Aggregates

Pay: $27.00/hr (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule:
Full-time, seasonal with travel and overtime
The General Laborer will perform a variety of tasks on the mine site, operating tools and equipment as needed, completing inspections, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety. This full‑time, seasonal position requires travel and overtime through peak season and reports to the Foreman. No supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Operate tools and equipment, including skid steer, crusher machinery, and computer control panels.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment.
- Keep the crusher and associated areas clean and organized.
- Assist in the field: moving equipment, shoveling, cleaning sites, and miscellaneous jobs as needed.
- Operate machinery inside the enclosed booth and oversee crushing process.
- Troubleshoot and communicate problems with the ground crew.
- Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, unplug, shoveling off conveyors/screens, repairing conveyor problems, and grease‑moving machine parts.
- Perform crusher machinery set‑up and takedown (running cables and hoses, setting up blocks, tarping, shoveling aggregate).
- Willingness to perform duties outside normal scope of work, including poor weather conditions or outside normal hours.
- Consent to pre‑employment work screen, motor vehicle record request, and drug test.
- Preferred: MSHA certification.
- Basic maintenance skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, tear down, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.
- Experience operating equipment.
- Understand instructions in both written and verbal form.
- Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills.
- Exposure to weather elements (heat, cold, noise, dust) while working outdoors.
- Night travel may be required as site locations move.
- Ability to reach below/at/above shoulders.
- Ability to push, pull, twist, bend, sit, stand, balance.
- Operate hand and foot controls.
- Simple/firm grasping, pinching.
- Ability to lift/lower/carry over 50 pounds.
- Squatting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling.
