Mitigation Technician
The Mitigation Technician supports restoration projects by assisting with the safe removal of damaged materials, performing demolition work, and setting up cleaning systems in homes affected by water or fire damage. This role works directly under a site lead, follows clear instructions, and carefully documents all work performed using digital tools and company systems. The position requires regular heavy lifting and hands-on work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities- Work directly with a site lead and follow all work direction and project instructions.
- Move damaged goods and materials safely out of affected areas to prepare spaces for restoration.
- Perform demolition of walls, flooring, and other damaged building materials as needed.
- Help assess affected areas to identify and document the extent of water or fire damage.
- Document all work processes and project details using iPads or by entering information into the company database.
- Set up and operate cleaning systems and equipment as needed for mitigation and restoration work.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds throughout the day, with frequent lifting of 45–50 pounds.
- Use hand tools and basic construction tools safely and effectively during demolition and removal tasks.
- Support field service activities by assisting with on-site installation, setup, and cleanup tasks as directed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- At least 6 months of construction experience.
- Ability and willingness to lift and carry up to 75 pounds consistently throughout the workday.
- Experience using hand tools safely and effectively.
- Basic demolition skills for walls, flooring, and other building materials.
- Ability to follow directions from a site lead and work as part of a field service team.
- Comfort working in homes with water or fire damage, both indoors and outdoors.
- Capability to document work using iPads or similar devices and enter information into a company database.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction, demolition, or related trades.
- Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical concepts in a construction or field service environment.
- Experience with installation and field service work.
- Strong attention to detail when assessing damage and documenting work performed.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to take on physically demanding tasks.

WorkEnvironment
You work in and around homes that have experienced water or fire damage, performing tasks both indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions. The role involves frequent heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the day. The company provides T-shirts, and you are expected to wear long pants and steel-toed boots or shoes to maintain safety on-site. You use hand tools, cleaning systems, and digital devices such as iPads to complete and document your work in an active field service environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
