With one of the largest inventories of modern lifting equipment in North America, in excess of 1,000 units, we are expanding and need a CDL Crane Rigger for our Billings, MT branch.
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the precheck process.
- Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
- Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
- Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL preferred.
- NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification – preferred.
- 3+ years of previous experience as a rigger.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
- Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations, and weight limits.
- Problem‑solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
- Previous experience using crane hand signals.
- Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for large periods.
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65 lbs.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.
- Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
Hourly: $30 – $40 – DOE+.
