Position Purpose
As a LONG Service Technician I, you will be maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial HVAC systems at a moderate level independently. You will also collaborate with more experienced technicians on complex tasks, following LONG's service procedures. While you'll be part of a dedicated team of Service Technicians, much of your work will be performed independently. To ensure you're well-equipped for the job, you'll be provided with a company vehicle, mobile phone, and work attire.
Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services on customer HVAC equipment, all while providing exceptional customer service and efficiently resolving HVAC system issues.

- Specialize in maintaining commercial HVAC systems by changing air filters, replacing belts, record refrigeration pressures, performing in depth inspections, and adjusting gas-fired burners as needed according to LONG’s Service Procedures while working independently.
- Perform troubleshooting on commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, economizer, VAV box, fan powered box, and pneumatic controls independently.
- Conduct basic repairs on HVAC commercial equipment using soldering, brazing, pipe fitting, and unit wiring independently.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools at an advanced level to troubleshoot, repair and install HVAC equipment.
- Complete basic installation tasks on commercial HVAC equipment using copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, crane direction and simple equipment start-ups.
- Regularly attend and complete any assigned training courses while making steady progress towards Service Technician II.
- Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork while on the job.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers upon arrival at job sites, confirming satisfaction before departing, and consistently representing the company with professionalism.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management.
- Capability to work in confined or tight spaces such as mechanical rooms for installation and repair tasks.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others while performing HVAC tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $29.12 - $40.04 per hr. plus potential profit share.
Qualifications- 2+ years working experience with commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to conduct repairs such as replace motors, connect HVAC components independently.
- Knowledge of basic building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical schematics.
- Ability to work after-hours when needed.
- This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle safely and legally.
- Moderate oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and able to learn additional computer software.
- Valid CFC Refrigeration certificate.

Physical Requirements- This position may involve standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces.
- This position may require lifting to 75 lbs. from floor to counter top and counter top to floor.
- This position may require climbing ladders and the ability to function at heights.
