Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Position Overview

Penske Truck Leasing in Billings seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and Penske customers. Primarily, this role moves box trucks up to 26'; CDL Class A will include tractors and trailer movement. Position may also provide assistance to the service department to deliver parts and equipment.

This is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job that is suitable for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destinations at Penske locations or customer locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report issues to the location manager if found.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
• Ability to work independently, customer service, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.
• To comply with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• DOT-regulated position requiring a current driver qualification file, including a motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records from prior employers in the last 3 years. CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and are subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specified location, submit to a background investigation and drug screening are required.

• The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.

Salary: $23.00/hr - Class A CDL

Schedule: 6-8 hours daily, 3/4 days a week, AM shift
