Rigger​/Driver

JMS Crane & Rigging is seeking experienced, full-time Class A CDL Riggers to join our growing team in Billings. In this role, you will be the backbone of our field operations—ensuring the safe lifting of loads, executing specialty rigging, and safely transporting heavy equipment to and from job sites.

Core Responsibilities Field & Rigging Operations Crane Support:
Assist crane operators with the precise, safe set-up and teardown of equipment.

Rigging Expertise:
Execute proper rigging techniques, specialized rigging, and machine-moving operations to ensure 100% safe lifts.

Signal Support:
Utilize standard, flawless hand signals to guide crane operations smoothly.

Logistics & Fleet Maintenance Transport & Security:
Properly load, secure (spreader bars, mats, counterweights), and transport equipment to job sites in strict compliance with State and Federal DOT laws.

Inspections & Safety:
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, documenting and submitting written reports regarding any mechanical defects.

Gear Management:
Monitor, clean, and maintain inventory of chains, binders (boomers), and straps, reporting any missing or damaged gear immediately.

Housekeeping: Maintain a clean cab and vehicle exterior daily.

Branch & Team Collaboration Operational Readiness:
Review upcoming assignments at the end of each shift and stage all necessary rigging and equipment in advance.

Proactive Downtime:
When not on a dispatch assignment, stay productive by assisting with shop maintenance, yard reorganization, and equipment cleaning.

Communication & Admin:
Maintain prompt phone communication, submit accurate weekly timesheets by Sunday at midnight, and continuously review equipment service manuals.

Job Requirements ️

Please Note:

You must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for this position.

Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Proven experience in professional rigging, signaling, and heavy equipment transport.

Strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and DOT regulations.

Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-first attitude.

Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of Class A CDL Experience
• Must have a current state issued CDL Class A Driver’s License.
• 1-3 years of rigging experience preferred
