Operations Manager
Overview
Concrete Assistant Superintendent position to support operations on construction projects, focusing on concrete work within the Nex Gen team.
ResponsibilitiesThis position serves as support for operations on the jobs in which they are involved, including participation in initial project set up and buyout, cost spread and estimate familiarity, job quantity tracking, on-site daily activity involvement, concrete material tracking, equipment and manpower productivity tracking, invoice approval, extra work ticket tracking, participation in job cost reporting, project safety compliance, quality control compliance, and production analysis and tracking.
- Project safety compliance
- Job cost spread and estimate familiarity
- Participation in project sequencing and scheduling
- Project quantity and progress tracking
- Production analysis and tracking
- Participation in project cost reporting
- Review drawings, plans, and specifications
- Material and equipment procurement
- Change order request issuance and tracking
- Coordination with GC/Owner
- Maintain a tool log to ensure inventory is up to date
Required skills and experience include:
- Effective communication, both verbal and written, with strong listening skills.
- Ability to identify, assimilate, and comprehend critical elements of situations and derive implications for action.
- Planning and controlling work, motivating and developing subordinates, improving methods and results, and supporting suggestions for improvement.
- Ability to break down problems and simplify complex issues.
- Efficient resource planning and cost reduction focus.
- Attention to detail and commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis of quality problems.
- Monitoring construction schedules and advising on potential setbacks.
- Communicating expectations about safety, ensuring safety audits are completed accurately and timely, and identifying critical issues to improve procedures.

Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentPhysical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands and arms, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Work site environment may involve moderate to loud noise, wet or humid conditions, mechanical parts, weather, high or precarious locations, fumes, high temperatures or extreme cold, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations. Overtime and travel are required.
