Position Overview

We are currently seeking part‑time Real Estate Instructors to assist New Mexico students within our online courses for Colibri Group’s brand, Colibri Real Estate. The instructor will familiarize themselves with our pre‑licensing courses and help students understand material by replying to emailed content questions. This part‑time, contract position requires an estimated 2–10 hours per week, but the time commitment may fluctuate.

The instructor is paid an hourly rate based on the number of hours worked assisting students each week, as well as time spent on other position requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Complete all documentation and perform all duties required to become a recognized instructor or Instructor of Record.
  • Support students in response to email, voicemail, and discussion board inquiries.
  • Respond to students within one business day, preferably 24 hours, by email or personal phone. Instructors are not required to meet students in person.
  • Review course content and assist in updates to courses as applicable state law and rule changes occur.
  • Complete training and remain current on all school technology systems necessary for student support.
  • Familiarize yourself with the course content and layout.
  • Complete the 16‑hour CDEI (Certified Distance Education Instructor) designation through IDECC within four months of contract acceptance, and maintain the designation by taking the CDEI renewal course every three years. Costs for acquisition and renewal are reimbursed by the school.
  • File required paperwork with the state commission for school and course approvals and renewals.
  • Allow name and signature to be used on course completion certificates.
  • Provide formal reviews of course materials.
  • Monitor and report any real estate commission and regulatory changes that may affect course content or delivery.
  • Make a 15–60 minute presentation before the Education Advisory Committee for each of the three pre‑license courses and answer questions about the subject matter.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson, broker, or attorney.
  • Active New Mexico real estate license (salesperson or broker).
  • Attend an instructor training course, Core Course Instructor Boot Camp, or a suitable Instructor Development Workshop within one year of approval.
  • Previous teaching experience is strongly preferred.
