An employer in Biloxi, MS is looking for a Jr. Mechanical Engineer to join their team in support of a federal contract they have over the next 7 years.
Responsibilities- Performs the design and development of construction drawings and develops specifications for MEP systems for construction or rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Evaluates projects to determine the most appropriate and economical systems to serve a facility.
- Prepares original design and preliminary and final layout of MEP projects, including size, capacity, and economy.
- Participates in final on-site inspection.
- Performs contract-related services such as writing scope of work, site surveys, contractor selection, negotiations, construction performance monitoring, product design, design review of internal and external A/E designs, and evaluation, inspection and acceptance of bids.
- Prepares detailed independent government estimates.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Must have an active EIT certification
- At least 6 months of experience within MEP design
- Can obtain a CAC card
- Facility design experience
- DoD design experience
