Construction Manager, DC Construction

• Manage construction projects for new builds and general capital projects, overseeing scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids and proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Manage construction documents, including submittal review, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
• Control construction quality and record and report key construction metrics.
• Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis associated with equipment failures.
• Act as a leader within the group and with internal and external teams that support the data center.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of construction management experience on large, complex projects involving MEP plants.
• 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFIs, submittals).
• 4+ years of experience constructing electrical engineering systems (e.g., power distribution/generation gear) and mechanical engineering systems (e.g., cooling systems).

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles (switch gear, UPS, transformers, circuit breakers) and mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems.
• Direct experience in the design or construction of data centers, critical infrastructure, or large‑scale mechanical and electrical plants.
• Proven ability to reduce costs through value engineering without compromising quality or reliability.
• Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings across all disciplines.
• Experience in controls and commissioning of large‑scale projects, including power management and monitoring systems.
