Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a LINUX Systems Administrator to support DoD scientists and warfighters at Stennis Space Center. The role requires ensuring reliable access to the DoD’s largest supercomputing center and operating powerful supercomputers.

• Provide expert-level administration of Red Hat Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Perform systems enhancement, configuration, maintenance, installation, and software upgrades.
• Lead a team of high-performing Linux administrators, providing guidance, technical expertise, and project leadership.
• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, sharing lessons learned and best practices.
• Maintain and manage the Enterprise Satellite server, ensuring it meets the organization’s software deployment and update needs.
• Automate routine and complex tasks using Ansible, streamlining operations and improving efficiency.
• Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels, adhering to established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
• Identify and address performance issues and optimize the production environment for mission‑critical systems.
• Perform acceptance testing of modules, subsystems, and total systems.
• Responsible for software installation, configuration, and ensuring adherence to configuration guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Maintain documentation and records to demonstrate adherence to regulatory requirements.

• Must hold an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain Interim Secret eligibility prior to start. US citizenship required.
• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years related experience.
• Must hold current DoD 8570 IAT II certification – Security+ and one of the following Linux certifications:
  Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) prior to start.
• Communicates effectively both orally and in written form with users and office staff.
