Job Overview
This role leads the provision of patient care, utilizing the nursing process and operating within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The leader delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring high‑quality patient outcomes while maintaining cultural sensitivity and supporting unit and department strategic goals.
Education- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing. - Required:
None.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred:
Certification in a clinical specialty area.
- Proficient in the use of computers, software, and web‑based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication, with the ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, capable of being self‑directed.
- Good judgment and interpersonal skills.
- Use the nursing process to deliver patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Utilize data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale through positive behaviors.
- Adopt behavior appropriate to the patient population, respecting privacy and communication style.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Daily duties may involve lifting 10–100 pounds, standing, walking, and exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases. Physical requirements exceed those of sedentary work. Occupational exposure to hazardous medications and waste is possible.
