Social Services Team Lead / Diagnostic Services / Long Beach (5535)

Location: 24 – Harrison County, MS
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $57,778.81 – $61,942.40 annually (based on education level)

• Serve as primary liaison between individuals served and families/correspondents/community.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to plan for training, habilitation and/or discharge of individuals.
• Act as ultimate point of contact for all Social Services staff (Social Workers/Case Managers).
• Provide support through socialization group training and counseling to individuals and families on adjusting to routines and life at the facility.
• Explain medical and psychiatric recommendations to families and obtain consent for treatments.
• Coordinate services among agencies contributing to individuals’ welfare.
• Prepare social histories by interviewing individuals and families.
• Supervise and work on floor with direct care staff; maintain client documents and records.
• Shop for client needs and gifts for holidays.
• Review and update Social Services policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership, training and supervision to all Social Services staff.
• Review and approve all social work evaluations; conduct performance appraisals.
• Conduct monthly rounds and in‑service training as required.
• Fill in for Social Workers/Case Managers and cover vacancies at community program sites.
• Participate in training for licensure renewal as mandated by the MS Board of Examiners.
• Maintain licensure and complete other assigned tasks.

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2–4 years of experience in the Social Worker field.
• Applicants may need a Master’s Degree and/or a social worker’s license.
• Must be a licensed social worker in the State of Mississippi with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Submit transcript/diploma and current social worker license copy.
