- Develop and lead winning strategy for station content
- Create content for the station website, app, smart-TV platform, and other digital platforms
- Write headlines and web stories that provide audience value and drive engagement
- Use analytics data to make decisions about audience interest and website organization
- Advocate for growing and directing off-platform participation among the digital editorial group
- Review and correct copy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
- Use social media and the station website to build and reinforce brand recognition
- Research and analyze background information for accurate news coverage
- Gather information through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at events
- Pitch local and trending stories during morning meetings
- Shoot and edit digital content
- Ensure content meets journalistic integrity and production-quality standards
- Create, upload, and schedule streaming content
- Run breaking-news update live streams from the OBS desk in the Digital News Studio
- Monitor external social-media conversations and manage station posts across all accounts
- Schedule holdable content for off hours
- Analyze and report metrics, update strategy, and communicate revised messaging
- Help execute the evolving newsletter strategy
- Grow audience for bylined stories and the station's social-media base
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in journalism
- News website experience required
- Live, working web samples preferred
- Proficiency in AP Style
- Adobe Photoshop proficiency
- Familiarity with Adobe Express, Canva and other graphical software preferred
- Adobe Analytics and Google Trends experience a plus
- Familiarity with OBS preferred
- Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments
- Respond positively to feedback
Demonstrates expertise in content creation and strategy development for digital platforms, with a strong focus on audience engagement and analytics-driven decision-making. Proficient in journalistic standards and skilled in using various digital tools for content production and brand recognition.
