Job Description:
The Department of Psychology at Binghamton University (SUNY) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in psychology (up to a three-year contract) with possible renewal. We seek a dynamic, innovative teacher committed to high-quality undergraduate education with potential for graduate teaching. The area of specialization is open, with particular interest in industrial-organizational (I/O) psychology, health psychology or behavioral medicine, and developmental psychology.
Start date can be as early as Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, with opportunities for summer and inter-session teaching. Lecturers are integrated into departmental life, with opportunities for voting, curriculum development, and program assessment. They may maintain active research programs and mentor undergraduate research assistants.
The Psychology Department comprises 48 faculty members across three doctoral programs (Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical Science, Cognitive and Brain Sciences) and eight teaching faculty with expertise in developmental, school, forensic, and social psychology. RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
- PhD in Psychology or Behavioral Neuroscience by August 17, 2026
- Experience instructing undergraduate courses within the discipline of psychology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Classroom experience in teaching domains such as Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine, Developmental Psychology, or Clinical Psychology
- Experience teaching large undergraduate lecture courses (N > 100)
- Involvement in curriculum development, program assessment, or empirical research
