Professional Tutor- Part Time: Nursing; Learning Assistance Department

Job Overview

Part‑time Professional Tutor for Nursing in the Learning Assistance Department. The tutor assists nursing students with coursework and promotes independent learning, under supervision of the Learning Assistance Department and guidance of nursing faculty.

• Obstetrics
• Dimensional Analysis (including experience with calculating safe medication dosages, IV infusion rates, and weight‑based dosing)

• Complete asynchronous onboarding training and any assigned ongoing training.
• Support student comprehension by developing learning activities, clarifying course concepts, and guiding students through course materials in one‑on‑one or small‑group formats.
• Provide students with tools and strategies to evaluate study habits and become active learners in one‑on‑one or small‑group formats.
• Refer students to other student support resources as needed.
• Maintain bi‑weekly timesheets and track tutoring sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of an associate’s degree and a license/certification in a related area.
• Participation in initial training and ongoing tutor development activities as required.
• One year of experience working with students in an academic setting (preferred).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Background check required.

Hourly rate: $30.78, increasing to $31.96 per hour as of September 1, 2026.
