In-School Financial Wellness Officer

Position Overview:

As an In-School Financial Wellness Officer, you'll serve as the primary connection between Visions Federal Credit Union and an assigned school district. You'll build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners while promoting financial literacy, supporting in-school branch operations, and creating meaningful learning opportunities for students.

This is a highly visible, community-centered role for someone who enjoys public speaking, relationship building, student development, and helping people feel more confident about their financial futures.

Position Type:
Full-Time. Regular shifts include Monday to Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM.

Compensation Range: $28.00/hr.

-$36.50 /hr.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Lead and support the in-school internship program, helping students gain practical experience in areas such as budgeting, resumes, interviewing, and professional development.
  • Deliver financial education through classroom presentations, student groups, walk-ins, events, and one-on-one conversations.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the school district and Visions, coordinating requests related to speaking engagements, sponsor ships, financial education, and school events.
  • Support student and family engagement opportunities, including orientations, parent-teacher events, PTA programs, workshops, and financial wellness presentations.
  • Facilitate or support financial literacy clubs, Life is a Reality events, summer business academy programming, expos, and other community-based initiatives.
  • Process financial transactions accurately and provide exceptional service while following credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote financial wellness tools and resources, including educational apps and materials that support students, staff, and members.
  • Partner with Financial Wellness team members and leadership to report on financial education efforts, share insights, and support regional initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality, protect member information, and uphold all applicable compliance expectations.

  • You create meaningful student learning experiences through internships, classroom support, events, and financial wellness programming.

  • You stay organized, communicate clearly, and follow through on commitments across school, community, and internal partnerships.

What we're looking for:

  • Associate degree and 1–2 years of experience in financial literacy, business development, education, public speaking, or a related area; 3–5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for financial education, student development, community engagement, and member service.
  • Ability to build relationships with school partners, students, families, community members, and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to supporting a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Bilingual Spanish fluency, preferred based on the members and communities served.
