Job Description

Join the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SOPPS) as a Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate/Experiential Coordinator. This full‑time, 12‑month non‑tenure‑track position coordinates experiential education for both IPPE and APPE placements across a wide variety of pharmacy settings, balancing a traditional faculty role with administrative responsibilities in the Office of Experiential Education (OEE).

As a Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice, you will engage in service, research/scholarship, and teaching  your administrative role as Experiential Coordinator you will work with the Executive Director of Experiential Education to manage and implement experiential programs, ensuring they meet ACPE standards and build strong partnerships with preceptors across the BU SOPPS preceptor network.

• Experiential Program Coordination
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain experiential sites and preceptors
  • Deliver education and training for preceptors and practice sites
  • Implement the experiential programs
  • Manage placement assignments of learners and their learning experiences
  • Ensure the quality of learner experiences through site visits and evaluations
• Teaching
  • Provide didactic teaching
  • Co‑coordinate experiential courses
• Service and Scholarship
  • Advise pharmacy students on their educational and professional development
  • Contribute to school and university service through committee work and other initiatives
  • Collect and assess information related to quality assurance and improvement of the experiential program
  • Engage in scholarship and research activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, Doctor of Pharmacy degree, or other pharmacy advanced degree
• Pharmacist licensure or eligibility in the state of New York (licensure required within one year of hire date)
• Experience precepting pharmacy learners

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with or within an institutional/hospital setting
• Experience working in academia
• Experience with experiential program administration
• Completion of post‑graduate training (e.g., pharmacy residency, clinical fellowship)

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires business travel to experimental sites across New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
