Desired Qualifications And Experience
  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
  • Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Proficiency in various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken English, or other suitable methods
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and related service providers
  • Strong advocacy and instructional skills to tailor educational programming
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs and goals of individual students
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments per their educational plans
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with students' individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and supports
  • Monitor and report on student progress toward academic and social-emotional goals
  • Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based decision-making
