Teacher Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Binghamton, NY

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (TDHH)
• Previous experience in a school setting supporting students with hearing impairments
• Strong skills in American Sign Language and alternative communication methods
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners and adapt teaching strategies
• Collaborative approach to working with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusion

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to suit individual student needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records as required by district standards
• Consult with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational plans for eligible students
• Foster a supportive and enriched learning environment
