Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish architecture content and develop solutions that achieve customer needs.
  • Work in a team environment, throughout the lifecycle of the program, using either Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
  • Conduct engineering system development tasks, including system requirements analysis, system architecture and design, preliminary design, critical design, system integration support, test procedure development, formal verification, and formal validation.
  • Interpret and analyze customer requirements and CONOPS, defining the system-level architecture, and allocating subsystem requirements.
  • Perform system-level analyses, determine and undertake necessary trade studies, define and allocate the functional requirements to subsystem.
  • Understand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects.
  • Create and update essential engineering documents, including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations.
  • Ensure all program requirements are met, program risks are identified and mitigated, and company processes are followed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of systems experience.
  • Experience supporting military or defense programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Experience with the full Systems Development Life Cycle.
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.
  • Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration, and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with requirements derivation, capability development, analyzing complex requirements, and determining viable solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting customer needs into achievable requirements or capabilities.
  • Ability to decompose customer requirements into capabilities that can then be decomposed by the development teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment.
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work, and site travel (CONUS)
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, including SysML, Rhapsody, Magic Draw, and/or Cameo.
  • Experience in Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS/UCI).
  • Familiarity with open system architectures (ex: ASPN, CMOSS, PNTOS, JADC2).
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, for airworthiness, ARINC and RTCA standards are preferred.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience.
  • Experience using modeling resources. Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Experience using earned value management systems to manage a team's cost and schedule performance.
  • Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as:
    Atlassian tool suite, Git Hub, Git Lab, AND/OR Jenkins.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward).
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities.
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) access.
