Position Overview
As part of the strategic plan for expanding biomedical and health science research in emerging fields, the Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for one tenured faculty position at the full Professor level with an expected start date of September 1, 2026. We are seeking a well-established biomedical engineer who has an outstanding track record in funding, scholarship, teaching, and service.
Candidates are invited from all areas of biomedical engineering, with particular interest in AI/Data Science/Controls in Biomedical Engineering/Biomanufacturing and related fields. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness is preferred.
- Develop and implement a robust plan that synergizes and accelerates our strategic research partnerships with Upstate Medical University and the CBRM.
- Augment existing capabilities and expertise in AI, data science, and controls in Biomedical Engineering and Biomanufacturing at Binghamton University and Upstate Medical University, building on ongoing research to strengthen cross‑institutional collaborations.
- Make significant contributions to Binghamton University's new Institute for AI and Society.

Requirements- PhD degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline
- Proven research leadership
- Record of scholarship as evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications and citations
- Successful record of securing external funding
- Experience as an effective educator and research mentor
- Background in AI/Data Science/Controls in Biomedical Engineering/Biomanufacturing
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
