Collins Aerospace is looking to add an experienced, energetic Electrical Engineering professional to be a part of the development, modification, integration, and test of flight and ground vehicle training simulators. Devices range in complexity from simple desktop trainers to high‑fidelity, full‑flight training systems. Work includes both clean‑sheet and design reuse. From an electrical perspective, devices are a conglomerate of off‑the‑shelf computational elements and internally designed electro‑mechanical hardware, knit together with custom arrays of cabling and interconnects.
The functionality and fidelity of the finished simulated vehicle provide customer trainees with all the experience necessary to be able to operate or service their real‑world counterparts safely, efficiently, and with confidence.
- Established and productive professional contributor working under limited supervision of technical leadership to design, analyze, test, integrate, qualify and document electrical hardware of moderate complexity.
- Master applicable internal processes and tools for the development of training simulator hardware.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines (i.e., mechanical, software and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
- Participate in cross‑functional team efforts in integration and test of completed designs and sub‑systems.
- Create design documentation using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Create baseline change notifications based on technical lead direction.
- Align with lead engineering direction while completing independent assignments within scope, schedule and budget.
- Support remote teams by collaborating on common projects and provide support for customers or internal reviews and meetings.
- May travel as required; up to 15%.
- Experienced with AutoCAD Computer Aided Design tool or similar.
- Experience with technical documentation such as schematics, cable drawings, parts lists, and wire lists.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Experience with electrical analysis & characterization, AC & DC power budgets, and part specification.
- Experience with Technical Co‑op/Intern or Military experience working on electrical equipment.
- Experience utilizing electrical test equipment and troubleshooting technical problems.

Salary Range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.
