JOB TITLE:
3A Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
SALARY RANGE: $40.86 per hr
RESIDENCY:
None
The Public Works Department is seeking to hire a 3A Chief WWTPO to operate our 3A Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities- Supervise the complete and actual operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
- Direct and oversee maintenance and repair of the plant.
- Work under the general direction of the Superintendent of Public Works.
- Supervise all subordinate operators, mechanics and laborers.
- Perform related work as required.
- Possession of the required Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation appropriate to the plant at appointment.
Incumbents may be required to be on call and respond to emergencies on weekends, evenings and holidays.
Note on Competitive PositionThis position is a competitive position, requiring applicants to meet minimum qualifications and successfully meet civil service examination requirements. A provisional appointment may be made. Permanent appointment depends on examination participation and being reachable from the resulting eligible list.
