Position: Senior Electrical Engineer – Design (Onsite)
Location: City of Binghamton

Job Summary

The Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization in Binghamton, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with analog and digital design experience. The role involves PCB design, system design and integration, requirements capture and transition to manufacturing. Products include chassis adapters supporting Ethernet, video and discrete I/O, embedded processor systems and user interfaces, and must comply with various MIL standards.

Sign‑on bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Research, develop, design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuring timely completion and quality.
  • Prepare engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, products, or systems.
  • Prepare documentation including product development schedules, costs, and performance analysis.
  • Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to meet quality standards and business objectives.
  • Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost‑effective means.
  • Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components (power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems, servo mechanisms, circuit theory, computers, instruments, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid‑state devices, and television systems).
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • Experience designing digital and analog products, including microprocessor systems, low‑power supplies, and communication subsystems.
  • Experience with mixed‑signal design, including SoC/FPGAs, A/D converters, D/A converters, digital down‑converters, digital waveform generators, mixed‑signal CCAs, modules and subsystems.
  • Experience developing test procedures, test fixtures, and EMI/EMC standards for military applications.
  • Experience with ALM tools such as Jira and Confluence, DOORS, MATLAB, LTSpice, and DX.
  • Experience interfacing to RF circuitry and high‑speed A/D, D/A conversion.
Salary

86,800 USD - 165,200 USD (range varies by experience).
