Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a motivated, action‑oriented Chemical Process Engineer to join our team. If you are an engineer who thrives on the production floor, enjoys getting your hands dirty to solve complex problems, and prefers active troubleshooting over sitting behind a desk, this is the role for you.

From advanced surface preparation to highly technical finishing processes, we can handle the smallest pieces to large parts over 30 feet long.
Our three shifts of skilled professionals in our 125,000‑square‑foot facility have made us the vendor of choice for metal finishing for the Northeastern United States. Whether it is electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, or powder coat, we finish it right the first time!
- Participate in process optimization and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Analyze operating procedures, equipment, and machinery functions to improve raw material efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot problems with chemical/plating processes.
- Determine effective use of unit operations, exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards.
- Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage technical projects for chemical processes to completion.
- Direct activities of operators on equipment (condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, pumps, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, pipelines, etc.) to effect required chemical or physical change.
- Perform testing on plating tanks and assist with cleaning and prepping of plating tanks.
- Perform testing and measurements to determine control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
- Manage and control the movement, storage, and packaging of liquids and gases.
- Provide technical assistance to resolve environmental or safety issues.
- Promote a safe work environment—lead by example and ensure staff follows established safety standards.
- Experience:
- 3+ years as a chemical engineer or technician with a focus on testing preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical unit operations/equipment—reactors, distillation, condensers, adsorption, compressors, evaporators, pumps, piping, heat exchangers, etc. required.
- This is an on‑site position; the company does not offer reimbursement for relocation or travel expenses related to the interview process.
- Skills:
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and ideas professionally across all levels.
- Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Ability to problem‑solve issues to root cause and implement corrective action.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Wage: $62,500–$75,000 (compensation depends on experience)
