Job DescriptionAs our new Mechanical and HVAC designer, you will be working across a wide range of mechanical design knowledge areas with a focus on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing related work. You will work with engineers to develop HVAC and plumbing designs using Revit.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform design work in various areas of the mechanical discipline, primarily HVAC and plumbing, with additional work in industrial piping, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details.
- Develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle.
- Create design drawings utilizing Revit design software.
- Design plumbing and building utility piping systems.
- Visit job sites as required to support the design effort, including day trips and overnight domestic trips.
- Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in Ramboll's Project Execution Manual.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll's Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or greater.
- Experience with HVAC and industrial duct layout.
- Knowledge of SMACNA duct construction standards.
- Knowledge of the International Plumbing Code and its requirements for plumbing design.
- Ability to foster a creative engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work across a wide range of areas within the mechanical engineering discipline.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit design software strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience preferred.

Salary Transparency
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation reasonably expected at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime, or other forms of compensation, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
